Bastille Day!

Bastille Day! What a fantastic way to spend a day! I have always wanted to be in a big city during a big tato…what an incredible experience. We started out going to the parade, which for Paris is the military precessions and bands. There were so many people thick that we couldn’t even see the street, but we did get a peak before in the staging area, and the highlight for me was the jets flying over head…something my Dad would have loved too! One jet flew over head leaving strips of White, Red and Blue in the sky…so cool!
So after fighting with the huge crowds in the Metro we headed back to our hotel, Arley Tour Eiffel and took a quickie nap…4 hours later! Yeah…4 hours, ops! We awoke and headed to find some great French bistro for dinner, after walking for about an hour, we decided on the oh so fabulous, Mc Donalda! Yeah, glamorous and fabulous! Don’t worry I have since made up for my dinning forepaw!
We headed with the masses to the Eiffle Tower to stake out a spot for the firework show. We found a perfect curb…a luxury with the million crowding into the park, and went to snag some treats! A box of Chipsters (salty little puffy nibblets of deliciousness) briskets with delicious chocolate on top, and gator gummies we were set for a 6 hour wait, but what a wait it was. Great music blaring, the French equivalent of John Mayer, and then the main show, a French John Denver…I guess their not just “coming to America” …Some highlights, Born to be Wild (in French!), I want to Rock n’ Roll! It was hilarious, we were dancing and singing at the top of our 2nd hand smoke packed lungs! About 10:30 the firework show started with lights projecting on the tower making appear to be spinning! Then fire burst from the 3 levels, then fireworks shot to the sky, deep blue sky! It was so picturesque! At one point they had lights that drew the lines of the Eiffel Tower
